he Cemetery

The George Washington National Memorial Cemetery and Garden is a newly designed, under development 161-acre
cemetery in Stafford County, Virginia. We are located just North of Fredericksburg, approximately 2 miles
from the Stafford Regional Airport Connector, Exit #136 off Interstate 95; 45 miles South of Washington, D.C.
and 62 miles North of Richmond. The George Washington National Memorial Cemetery and Garden is about six
miles from the Amtrak rail station in downtown Fredericksburg — the last stop on the Virginia Railway Express
(VRE) — the commuter train to Union Station in Washington D.C.

The Cemetery is tucked away in Historic rolling land separated by pulchritudinous hedgerows with natural
growth and streams meandering through them to the two-acre Swan Lake.  The Master Plan, prepared by renowned
landscape architects Oehme van Sweden and Associates, Inc., includes future lake improvements such as a three
story fountain, a pier and gazebo overlooking the majority of the lakeside estates and sites. The stamped
concrete antique Williamsburg red brick paths and roadways flow through the cemetery so that all sites lie
within 150 feet of a road or walk way.

Most of the water view burial rights at The George Washington National Memorial Cemetery and Garden are
located in the biblical named gardens of Christ, Faith, Meditation and Prayer, along with the Garden of Dogwood.
Flowing westward from Swan Lake, these gardens are designed with individual landscaped areas for the upright
monument privileges and Private Family Estate Areas to provide additional privacy for the many families that
desire this type of burial and monumentalization.

The George Washington National Cemetery has the HMIS enterprise software to operate its business. Used by most
public owned cemeteries, this software allows for a more complete and updated inventory and accounting of all
sites, merchandise and all facets of the cemetery operation. A ten day training conference has been completed
by our entire staff for the full understanding and operation of this software system.

Now that the cemetery is open with permits approved by Stafford County, the focus is on construction of the
Enon Road Entry Gate and the 500 feet of Perimeter Columbarium Wall on either side of the gate. Immediately
following this completion, the concentration will be on the engineering and construction of the Main Entry
Gate and the Reception / Administration Centre along with the removal of the temporary offices and the final
improvements to Swan Lake. The George Washington National Memorial Cemetery and Garden will then initiate the
completion of the roadways and the full implementation of the Oehme van Sweden Master Plan.
